Conservation is a focal point of my artwork. ‘Where have all the Flowers Gone’ is one of my responses.

This Wagga quilt, 168cm x 126cm, is a response to the continuing destruction of our native flora.  The Australian ‘Wagga’ is, as is this quilt, made from sample blocks and left-overs from manufactured garments, in this artwork, using recycled wool material.  The ‘make do and mend’ philosophy underpins all my art work.  The layers are ‘tied’ together using buttons collected over five generations of  my family.  This design element of layers being tied together, represents the understanding that all layers of nature are interdependent.  Machine pieced, hand finished.  Knotted fringe.
