This Wagga quilt is a response to the continuing destruction of our native flora. The Australian ‘Wagga’ tradition is to use sample blocks and left overs from manufactured garments. In this quilt I have used recycled wool material. The ‘make do and mend’ philosophy underpins all my art work. The layers are tied together using buttons collected over five generations of my family. This design element of layers tied together, represents the understanding that all layers of nature are interdependent. Machine pieced, hand finished and knotted fringe.
